Jeffrey Herlings has won the first moto of the Grand Prix of Latvia. Herlings took the lead right from the start and managed to keep Lucas Coenen behind him for the entire race. Brian Bogers held third place for a long time but had to let Glenn Coldenhoff and Ruben Fernandez pass in the final stages, finishing fifth. Romain Febvre was running fourth during the first half of the race but crashed and had to settle for sixth place.
