The Van Venrooy KTM team made the trip to the picturesque Arco di Trento circuit for the fifth round of the MX2 World Championship, and it proved to be a memorable weekend for Cas Valk.
After battling illness at the previous round in Sardinia, the Dutch youngster bounced back in style, showing he was back to full health and ready to fight at the front. Despite the tricky hard-pack conditions, Valk demonstrated strong pace from the outset and looked comfortable around the tight and technical Italian circuit.
In the opening moto, Valk rode well to secure a solid sixth-place finish. He then stepped it up a notch in race two, battling hard and crossing the line in an impressive fifth position. Those results gave him a well-earned fifth overall on the day – his best result of the season so far.
It marks an important milestone in Valk’s development as he continues to establish himself in the competitive MX2 class. His consistency and speed have now moved him up to eighth in the championship standings.
Next up, the Van Venrooy KTM squad head to Switzerland for round six, with the Easter Monday main races set to provide another exciting chapter in the 2025 season.
Cas Valk (5th overall): I am really happy with this weekend in Arco. I had good speed in all sessions on the track and I got my first top five overall result. This is what we work for so let’s keep going!
