Nicolai Skovbjerg claimed victory in the opening EMX250 moto at Lommel. The Danish rider delivered a strong performance to finish ahead of fellow Dane Mads Fredsoe. Francesco Bellei crossed the line in third, while Dani Heitink was the highest-placed Dutch rider in fourth. Gyan Doensen completed the top five.
Doensen produced an impressive charge through the field, but after moving into second place, he crashed on the final lap and dropped back to fifth.
