Karlis Reisulis Crowned Dutch Masters Champion, Janis Finishes Runner-Up

The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team concluded the 2026 Dutch Masters of Motocross in impressive fashion. At the championship finale in Halle, Karlis Reisulis and Janis Reisulis finished second and third overall on the day, securing the Dutch MX2 title for Karlis. Janis completed the championship in second place, just six points behind his brother and teammate.

Janis immediately demonstrated his speed in qualifying by setting the fastest lap time, while Karlis posted the fourth-fastest time, giving both brothers an excellent start to race day.

In the opening moto, Janis quickly took the lead and looked set to claim the race victory. However, arm pump caused him to crash, costing him valuable time. He recovered well to limit the damage and finished third. Meanwhile, Karlis rode a consistent race in third position before capitalizing on his brother’s crash to move into second, where he crossed the finish line.

Karlis also delivered a strong performance in the second moto. After another good start, he ran in third place before working his way into second, a position he maintained to the checkered flag. Janis, meanwhile, had to fight his way through the field after starting around seventh. Setting an impressive pace, he charged back to third place to secure another podium finish.

With 2-2 moto finishes, Karlis claimed second overall for the day, while Janis’s pair of third-place finishes earned him third overall. More importantly, Karlis secured the 2026 Dutch Masters of Motocross MX2 Championship title. Janis completed Yamaha’s success by finishing second in the final championship standings, just six points behind his brother.

With Karlis claiming the Dutch MX2 crown and Janis securing the championship runner-up position, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 Team can look back on an extremely successful Dutch Masters campaign. The team’s focus now shifts fully back to the FIM MX2 World Championship, where both Latvian riders aim to carry their strong form into the remainder of the season. The next round of the championship takes place this coming weekend at Foxhill for the MXGP of Great Britain.
