The AMA Pro Motocross Championship got underway at Fox Raceway, with Seth Hammaker claiming victory in the 250MX class and Hunter Lawrence proving unbeatable in the 450MX division.
In the 250MX class, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Seth Hammaker secured the overall win. Hammaker finished second in the opening moto before taking a convincing victory in Moto 2, earning himself the first red plate of the season. The biggest surprise of the day came from Cade Dudney, who used consistent 6-4 moto finishes to secure second overall. Cole Davies completed the podium with a 3-8 scorecard for third overall.
The top five was rounded out by Levi Kitchen, who won the first moto but could only manage 13th in Moto 2, leaving him fourth overall. Julien Beaumer finished fifth with an impressive 11-2 score.
In the 450MX class, Hunter Lawrence was in a league of his own. The HRC Honda rider won both motos to claim a dominant overall victory. Two-time MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado showed he is once again capable of fighting at the front with Red Bull KTM, recording two second-place finishes to secure second overall.
Jett Lawrence also made a strong return from injury, finishing on the podium in third overall thanks to 4-3 moto scores. Justin Cooper took fourth overall with a 3-6 score, while Haiden Deegan’s debut in the 450MX class resulted in an impressive fifth overall finish after posting 5-4 moto results.
From a European perspective, there were two other notable debutants in the 450MX class. Mikkel Haarup impressed in his first appearance aboard a 450 with an 11th overall finish, while Cornelius Toendel completed his first AMA National in 23rd overall.
