Scott Smulders Hospitalized

Scott Smulders crashed during the first moto of the Grand Prix in France on Sunday and was hit by several oncoming riders afterwards. Initial checks at the track did not appear to show any serious injuries, but during the journey home Scott started experiencing severe abdominal pain, which led to a visit to the hospital.

The following injuries were diagnosed:
Two fractured vertebrae, a torn kidney and spleen, and a broken little finger. Scott is currently in the ICU in Tilburg, and doctors are now monitoring the internal bleeding closely.
