Ruben Fernandez set the fastest time in MXGP time practice. The Spaniard was 0.014 seconds quicker than Jeffrey Herlings, who recorded the second-fastest time.
The third-fastest time was set by Tom Vialle, while championship leader Lucas Coenen had to settle for ninth.
Kay de Wolf finished eleventh, Calvin Vlaanderen sixteenth, Roan van de Moosdijk eighteenth, and Rick Elzinga recorded the thirtieth-fastest time. Jago Geerts and Brent Van Doninck finished nineteenth and twentieth.
