Strong weekend for Nicolas Vennekens at 875 Trophée Orp-le-Grand

Nicolas Vennekens can look back on a successful weekend at the 875 Trophée in Orp-le-Grand. On the technical and beautiful track, he showed that both speed and confidence were right where they needed to be.

Saturday: busy on the track, strong recovery

During Saturday’s practice sessions, Nicolas felt good straight away, although the busy track made it difficult to set a perfect lap. In the first moto, he got off to a strong start, but a crash in the fourth corner dropped him back to 54th place. With an impressive charge through the field, he still managed to climb up to a fine 8th position. In the second moto, he again started well from the gate, though the race itself was a bit less smooth.

Sunday: speed in every moto

Sunday started in the best possible way with the 6th fastest time in qualifying – the quickest in his group.

In the first moto, Nicolas grabbed the holeshot, but eventually had to let two riders pass. He crossed the line 3rd overall and 1st in his group.

In the second moto, a poor start made things more difficult, but he fought his way back to 5th (2nd in his group). In the final moto, another weak start forced him to come from behind, yet he still finished in a strong 3rd place – once again taking the win in his group.

Positive outlook

“The feeling was good all weekend and I was able to ride my pace in every moto,” Nicolas said afterwards. “The crash on Saturday was unfortunate, but I’m happy I could fight back every time and show my speed. This gives me confidence for the upcoming races.”
