he build-up to the MXGP of Sweden continued with full swing today as fans rushed into Torp Shopping Center for the traditional pre-race signing session. Just like last year, the event took place in the same buzzing location and once again it was packed with people. And many of them came with the now-famous viking helmet to celebrate and show support to their home riders
The afternoon kicked off in style with a freestyle motocross show that had the crowd gasping and cheering. Swedish favourite Elliot Gröndahl stole the spotlight with some jaw-dropping tricks, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Then it was time for the main event: the riders signing session. Fans young and old lined up to meet their MXGP heroes, collect autographs, and snap selfies. The line-up didn’t disappoint: Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings, Honda HRC’s Tim Gajser, home hero JK Racing’s Isak Gifting, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing trio Simon Laengenfelder, Lucas and Sacha Coenen, Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay de Wolf, Team Honda Motoblouz SR Motul’s Kevin Horgmo and more took time to meet the fans.
Homegrown talent was also out in force, with Alvin Östlund, Young Motion powered by Resa’s Filip Olsson, Sandro Sols, August Frisk, Sebastian Sundman, Alfred Franzen, Linus Persson, Albin Gerhardsson, Casper Lindmark, Hugo Forsgren, Pelle Gundersen and Arvid Luning soaking up the warm Swedish welcome.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for before a big MXGP weekend: happy and full of energy. From wide-eyed kids meeting their idols for the first time to seasoned fans swapping predictions for Sunday’s races, the passion for motocross was everywhere.
With the crowd fired up and the riders ready to go, the stage is set for an unforgettable weekend in Uddevalla.
