The British Motocross Championship heads to Blaxhall for one of the most anticipated rounds of the 2025 season – and it’s shaping up to be a thriller. MX1 points leader Conrad Mewse returns to the sandy Suffolk circuit where he famously beat Jeffrey Herlings last year before racing was cut short. This time, there’s no Herlings, but Mewse’s unbeaten British streak is under pressure.
Despite four wins from four, Mewse has been battling a wrist injury and has shown signs of vulnerability, having been beaten recently in non-championship events by Adam Sterry and Ben Edwards. With MXGP experience under their belts, Sterry and Josh Gilbert (currently 2nd and 3rd in the standings) are fired up and ready to challenge. Gilbert in particular will be keen to avenge a missed opportunity at Canada Heights, where Mewse passed him early and controlled the race.
Keep an eye on Jamie Carpenter, Mewse’s Crendon Honda teammate, who sits 4th overall and is chasing his first MX1 podium after two gritty performances. Other contenders include Tristan Purdon, Jason Meara, Martin Barr, Brad Todd, and sand specialists like Joel Rizzi – all aiming to make their mark. In MX2, veteran Tommy Searle leads the championship but faces fierce competition from rising stars like Billy Askew, Bobby Bruce, and standout Spaniard Oriol Oliver. Oliver wowed fans at Canada Heights with stunning speed and now heads to Blaxhall as a major threat. Throw in a packed British 125 class and a sunny forecast, and Blaxhall promises a full day of bar-banging, high-stakes action. Whether you’re a hardcore MX fan or new to the sport, this round is not to be missed!
