MX1 points leader Conrad Mewse returns to the sandy Suffolk circuit where he famously beat Jeffrey Herlings last year before racing was cut short. This time, there’s no Herlings, but Mewse’s unbeaten British streak is under pressure.
Despite four wins from four, Mewse has been battling a wrist injury and has shown signs of vulnerability, having been beaten recently in non-championship events by Adam Sterry and Ben Edwards. With MXGP experience under their belts, Sterry and Josh Gilbert (currently 2nd and 3rd in the standings) are fired up and ready to challenge. Gilbert in particular will be keen to avenge a missed opportunity at Canada Heights, where Mewse passed him early and controlled the race.
