In just seven days, the Westfalenhalle will come alive once more as the 40th Anniversary Edition of ADAC Supercross Dortmund takes place from January 10–12. The event will feature top-tier riders from around the world competing in SX1 and SX2 categories. Tickets for the approximately four-hour spectacle, including thrilling races and breathtaking freestyle shows, start at €60.

Double Celebrations at ADAC Supercross Dortmund

The event will celebrate two major milestones. On Saturday evening, after the second day of competition, the new ADAC SX Cup champions in SX1 and SX2 will be crowned. This winter series includes rounds in Stuttgart and Dortmund. On Sunday, the traditional titles of “King of Dortmund” and “Prince of Dortmund” will be awarded.

SX1: The Battle for the Crown

Greg Aranda (Sturm Racing Team) remains the clear favorite in the SX1 class. After two victories in the ADAC SX Cup opener in Stuttgart, the Frenchman arrives in Dortmund as the points leader. Close behind are his compatriots Jordi Tixier (KMP-Honda-Racing powered by Krettek) and Maxime Desprey (Sturm Racing Team), who took second and third place on both days in Stuttgart.

Aranda, who also arrived in Dortmund as the points leader in 2024, clinched the Cup title but fell short in the final battle for the crown, losing to Cédric Soubeyras (Kawasaki Team Pfeil). After a break due to injury, Soubeyras will make his comeback in Dortmund.

Jordi Tixier, the 2014 Motocross World Champion, is another strong contender. In 2023, Tixier claimed the “King of Dortmund” title, with victories on Friday and Sunday, leaving Aranda trailing behind.

However, Scottish rider Dean Wilson (Lukes Racing – Hertrampf Gruppe) plans to disrupt the French dominance. Making his debut in the Westfalenhalle, Wilson arrives with clear ambitions to take the crown. The 2023 Australian SX Champion and 2011 US SX Champion in the 250cc class has the credentials to reach the top.

Two German riders will also compete in the SX1 category. Maximilian Spies (Becker Racing) brings excitement with his two-stroke KTM machine, thrilling fans with its distinct sound. After finishing seventh in the first final in Stuttgart, Spies aims to qualify for all three finals in Dortmund.

Dennis Ullrich (KTM Sarholz Racing), the last German to secure a daily win in Dortmund, returns with high motivation. The 31-year-old five-time ADAC MX Masters champion is ready to shine again in front of a packed crowd.

SX2: An Open Field

In the SX2 class, American rider Preston Boespflug (Kawasaki Team Pfeil) leads the standings after impressive performances in Stuttgart, including a second and third-place finish. French riders Brice Maylin (Meyer Racing) and Calvin Fonvielle (KTM Sarholz Racing Team) follow closely in third and second place, respectively.

German rider Nico Koch (Becker Racing) is also in contention, currently tied in points with the Frenchmen and just two points off the lead. With a strong showing in Stuttgart, including a second-place finish, Koch is ready to challenge for the top in Dortmund.

The SX2 class will feature 14 additional German riders, making them the largest contingent. Promising riders like Paul Bloy (S-Tech Racing Products) and Paul Haberland (Motorrad Waldmann) also aim for podium finishes.
