On December 9, 2024, the automotive world was shocked by KTM’s decision to end its strategic support for MV Agusta.
In a meeting that took place at Confindustria Varese, KTM officially announced that the MV Agusta was no longer considered a “strategic asset”.
This decision forces MV Agusta to return to fully independent management, with all production activities planned to return to their main factory in Varese by March 2025.
This move created major challenges, especially in terms of operational costs, but also an opportunity for MV Agusta to redefine their strategy.
Even though they are in a stressful transition period, MV Agusta sees an opportunity to rise. The company plans to launch three new motorbike models starting March 2025, with a focus on avoiding unnecessary stock buildup.
They are also targeting rapid growth over the next three years to achieve stability in 2027. Despite budget cuts and a voluntary departure program for employees, MV Agusta remains committed to maintaining the welfare of its workers, including payment of the 13th salary.
With the spirit of innovation and full support from the union, MV Agusta is determined to overcome these difficult times and return to the global stage as one of the legendary motorbike brands.
