We are less than a month away from the 2024 season coming to a close and it will be time to prepare for the 2025 season with that all important first gate drop of the season. Here is Jack Evans end of year report talking about his highs and some lows from 2024.
What a great year 2024 was for me for really getting my strength and riding dialled in on the 125cc.
In order to gain new experiences and build my learning, I entered for a load of Nationals this year, which saw me racing against some of the fastest and best competition in the Youth and 125cc classes.
At the start of the season, I took part in the NORA Pro Championship at Oakhanger, and although it was extremely tough and the race was stacked with really fast riders, I managed to pick up 6th overall in the 125cc Youth Class.

On from there, I entered as a wildcard for the Fastest 40 125cc Youth Championship at Preston Docks (finished 11th overall), Landrake (12th overall) and Brookthorpe (8th overall).
As a wildcard in the Dirtstore MXGB at Monster Mountain in June, I probably had my lowest weekend of the year, as I struggled with not believing in myself and my ability. My lap times weren’t consistent and my starts were horrendous.
I did pretty well in the AMCA Championship, when I entered as a wildcard, finishing 2nd in the Youth 125cc class at the mighty Hawkestone Park, and 3rd at Bromsberrow.

A new series for me in 2024 was the Acerbis Amateur Nationals in the 125cc class, with both Adults and Youth in the same class. This was again tough, but I was pleased to be racing against some tough competition and not letting the side down.
Highlight for me in 2024, though, has to be the NORA British Cup, where I was crowned winner of the Youth Class, 2 years on from winning the NORA Cup in the BW85 class. To be representing NORA CRS Development at a NORA Championship was amazing.
And at the NORA Team event at Landrake in September, I was representing Cotswold Youth & AMX Club, and picked up 3rd place in the Youth class, against some fantastic competition!
In terms of accomplishments, my starts have always been my Achilles Heel, so I have worked on them for the season. My final race of 2024 saw me picking up the holeshot at Brookthorpe before crashing out and fracturing my wrist.

Coach Robb has been amazing again this year, with 1-2-1 tuition on health, nutrition and wellbeing. When I fractured my wrist, I contacted Robb straight away and he gave me some excellent advice for recovery and getting my strength back
We had a fantastic boot camp in August, where Stephen Sword and Joe Clayton provided coaching and training, and this was great for trying out new things and getting the whole team together, creating a real family effect.
Behind the scenes, Gemma and Andy have been working tirelessly for the team- putting together our launch and boot camp events, organising and ordering all the kit, being on hand for advice and visiting us at meetings. Having their support has been a real bonus and I am extremely grateful for everything they have done for me.
So onto the winter… My main objective is to get my wrist back and strong. I have already started my Coach Robb workouts so that I can maintain as much fitness as possible, and am looking forward to more tuition from him over the winter months.
In terms of bike focus, now my starts are getting there, I really want to concentrate on my braking skills. Me and Dad are already putting a plan together to put this into practice as soon as we can.
What does 2025 hold? Well whilst it’s a bit too early to confirm everything, I have already signed up for the Bridgestone in the 125cc class, the British Youth in the 250cc class and the British 125 Championship, and obviously will be returning for the NORA British Cup. I plan to compete in the MX MasterKids and Monster Mountain Cup for the very first time. And as and when I have a spare weekend, on a club level, I will compete with Cotswold and Severn Valley.
Being part of the NORA CRS Development Team is an amazing privilege, not just from the support I’ve already mentioned, but from giving me the confidence to have been selected for such a fantastic initiative.
Thanks to all the NORA team, team sponsors and all my personal sponsors that do so much for me.
