The 2024 WSX World Championship is set to kick off tomorrow inside Vancouver, Canada’s BC Place and this is one of the most exciting fields in the series’ short history, as defending World Champion Ken Roczen will have to defend his number-one plate from a hungry Eli Tomac, and more. The four-round series will visit three different countries and crown two champions at the finale in Abu Dabi on December 4th.
A new race format will challenge riders every step of the way, as top performers in the WSX (450) and SX2 (250) classes will race four times for a total of 40 laps at each round. The WSX and SX2 classes will each race three motos (two 8-lap races, and one 12-lap race) before the top eight riders from each class are pitted against each other in a 12-lap Super Final. And get this: all four races will count towards the overall Grand Prix finishes in both classes.
We spoke to some of the top contenders at today’s media day function at BC Place for this installment of the Yamalube Newsbreak!
