Alessandro Lupino consolidates his third place in the championship standings thanks to the performance of the Desmo450 MX

Race testing of the Borgo Panigale prototype continues positively to develop the model which will enter production in 2025

The development of the Ducati Desmo450 MX ridden by Alessandro Lupino continues in the third round of the Italian Motocross Championship. Already victorious on its debut last March in Mantua, the Borgo Panigale prototype represents the first step in a project that will see the birth of a complete range of off-road motorcycles.

In the third round of the Italian MX1 Championship, held on the Miravalle Circuit of Montevarchi, the eight-time Italian Champion was the fastest at the start of both races but in the first heat he was forced to retire during the sixth lap following a contact with another rider, while he was in third position. In the second heat, however, the rider from Viterbo finished in second place, consolidating his third place in the championship standings.

The Montevarchi race again allowed Ducati engineers to collect more precious data to support the development of the Desmo450 MX, whose race performance is confirming the validity of the technical basis of the prototype which will go into production in 2025.

The next round of the Italian Motocross Championship is scheduled for 22 and 23 June on the Ponte a Egola (PI) track. During the month’s break, Alessandro Lupino and Tony Cairoli, present at Montevarchi to support his brand mate, will continue the testing program of the Desmo450 MX.
