The Dutch Bas World Dakar team, with South African rider Michael Docherty, has won the tenth stage of the Dakar Rally. This is a remarkable achievement, as Docherty suffered a crash earlier in the rally and sustained injuries.
At the finish, Docherty had a lead of over a minute ahead of Rui Gonçalves, with Tobias Ebster securing third place. Stefan Svitko finished fourth, followed by Edgar Canet in fifth.
Among the contenders for the overall victory, Daniel Sanders was the first to finish, taking tenth place and further extending his lead over Tosha Schareina, who finished sixteenth. The gap between the two riders now stands at 16.5 minutes.
