Camerino celebrates arrival of FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy with opening ceremony

Adorned with flag bearers and excitement, the opening ceremony of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) saw the 2024 edition officially get underway in Camerino, Italy. Marking fifty years since the region witnessed the greats of the FIM International Six Days Trial (ISDT) compete, the Wednesday evening nation’s parade was one of much celebration.

From sixteen nations, the four-hundred-plus competitors were joined by family and friends as they gathered at the historical Rocca Borgesca military fortress to usher in proceedings.

As music played and flags were waved, one by one, each nation took to the stage to share in the limelight and evening’s festivities.

The attraction of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy has lured riders from around the world to Italy. Portugal’s Pedro Mariano is one such rider who couldn’t resist the charm of this race.

Normally found organising enduro races as an FIM Race Director, Mariano has instead dusted off his race boots to compete.

It’s exciting to be here as a rider and be a part of the festivities,” says Mariano. “The Moto Club Camerino have done an excellent job putting everything together. I’m looking forward to getting out on track, experiencing this race from a different perspective and, of course, trying my best!

It’s incredible to see how much this event is growing. Splitting the FIM EVT from the FIM 6DAYS® has allowed it to become a standalone race. There are over four hundred riders here this week, so it shows how strong the passion for vintage enduro truly is.
The FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy takes place in Camerino, Italy from 4-7 September.
