Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Jeremy Seewer qualified fourth for tomorrow’s eleventh round of the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship on the Indonesian island of Lombok.
Fifth in Timed Practice, the Swiss gated third and, despite surrendering one position to the defending world champion on lap two, maintained a solid fourth position, just thirteen seconds behind the winner, to the finish of the Qualifying race in hot conditions with temperatures hovering in the low thirties centigrade.
Jeremy Seewer: “The best of the rest again, but we’re not too far. The track was super-tricky; it was difficult to ride smooth and there were many mistakes from others today but I rode smart so maybe I can be top-three again tomorrow. It’s hot of course but I have a lot of experience and know what I need to prepare with plenty of drinking and cooling your body. And I prefer it to the cold.”
Bike It Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team’s Jack Chambers raced to his best Qualifying result of the season in the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship to score three world championship points for eighth. An opening lap error cost the American four positions after he had gated eighth but he regrouped to regain those lost placings during the twenty-minute-plus-two-lap race.
Jack Chambers: “I haven’t reached my full potential yet but I’m still improving and had a good taste of the action today. I want to be there every weekend; two more top-tens would be nice tomorrow and then carry the momentum into the rest of the season. I actually thought it would be even hotter here, but the summer in Florida is brutal so I’ve grown up in it; it still affects me but I seem to be less bothered by it than the others.”
