Wilson pulls out of Houston

There have been many Dean Wilson updates this week, seeing as he has attempted to make strides forward with his injured shoulder each day. After ruling out a return at Houston earlier in the week, because of the damage sustained at the Monster Energy Supercross opener, Wilson decided to travel to Houston and at least give it a go. However, after riding press day, he has now confirmed that he will not venture out onto the track today.

Tough pill to swallow, but I won’t be lining up today,” Wilson wrote on his social media accounts. “I just don’t feel I have the strength to race and wouldn’t want to put myself or anyone else in danger. Really bummed but hopefully I will be feeling a lot better next weekend with another full week of therapy. Thanks for sticking with me.” Wilson previously confirmed that he sustained a bad contusion in his shoulder, strained rotator cuff, bone bruising and a sprained wrist in his crash at Anaheim 1.

Qualifying is about to get underway at Houston, round two of Monster Energy Supercross, with the live show kicking off in a little over an hour. Race Day Live, hosted by Daniel Blair and Jim Holley, will be broadcast live on MX Vice and capture all of the action from NRG Stadium.
