Red Bull Pro Nationals promoter e22 Sports has struck a deal with Wheeldon Off-Road Centre for the Devon-based training facility to operate all its Motocross Try Out areas in 2013.
The experiential areas are an important part of the e22 mission to introduce new people to the joys of off-road riding and are run at all rounds of the Red Bull Pro Nationals as well as the Festival of Speed at Goodwood (July 11-14).
It’s a mission that’s shared by the Wheeldon Off-Road Centre, Europe’s only permanent indoor training facility. With a fleet of junior, youth and adult off-road bikes plus experienced, fully-qualified instructors, the centre is an ideal partner and its expertise is already being put to good use. At round two of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Weston-super-Mare in May a series record of 140 new riders received tuition over the weekend from the Wheeldon team.
“We’re committed to introducing newcomers to the fun that can be had from riding off-road motorcycles,” explains e22 Sports Managing Director Matt Bates. “Offering a try out area helps to increase understanding and bring new riders into this sport and into motorcycling in general.
“We chose Wheeldon Off-Road Centre to provide this facility for us as they are experts in this area with some of the best instructors in the country.”
“We are excited to have been chosen as the official partner to e22 Sports at its events,” adds Wheeldon Off-Road Centre co-owner Andrew Savery. “The Red Bull Pro National series gives us an opportunity to take training outside of our centre and teach even more people to ride. We feel it’s a privilege to be a partner to these events.”
