Reusel in Holland was the venue on Sunday for the latest action in the IMBA MX2 European Championship and, what a performance the current AMCA Champion Jack Cox was to produce. Taking the challenge right to all of the European sand track racing experts, Cox was to eventually finish a fantastic joint 4th overall whilst his British team mates Ryan Crowder, Paul Neale and Scott Mathia finished 18th, 19th and 22nd respectively.

After posting the 11th fastest time in qualification, Cox was fast out of the trap in moto one before eventually getting home in a strong 4th. In contrast, Neale who is usually quick away from the gate found himself right down the order in 27th before recovering back up to a hard earned 13th with Crowder in 18th and Mathia 24th.

Whilst both Mathia and Neale unfortunately tasted the sand in turn one of moto two, Cox was proving that his opening race performance was certainly no fluke as after gating in 10th he got right up to 2nd before eventually having to settle for a superb 3rd spot. Meanwhile after their earlier problems, Mathia and Neale took 19th and 20th at the chequered flag. Crowder after holding 15th spot during most of the moto was to crash and fall back to 23rd.

Looking for a podium spot, Cox along with fellow Brit both Neale surprisingly found themselves well down the leaderboard in the early exchanges of the final moto at Reusel. For Neale it was to then get a whole lot worse as he crashed and was unable to quickly restart his Kawasaki machine, finishing one lap down on the leaders in 27th position. Cox though was again charging very hard and incredibly got right back to 5th before being forced to settle for a 7th place. In a tough, tiring moto three, the remaining Brits Mathia and Crowder got home in 18th and 25th places respectively.

Taking the overall win at Reusel was home Dutch rider Maikel Brands ahead of fellow countryman John Cuppen with Swiss rider Andy Baumgartner.
