We’ve just heard that Kristian Whatley will be racing a KTM at the final Maxxis British championship round at Little Silver. After his ‘trial’ run on the factory Monster Energy Yamaha at the British GP left him with a damaged shoulder, KW was hoping to get another shot on the factory bike ran by Michele Rinaldi but it seems that opportunity went ‘belly up’ along with his shoulder when he crashed on race day.
The injury kept him off a bike for a while and in that time Kristian started to put plans for 2013 down with a team of close friends around him and it seems they’ve made significant progress. Whatley will race a privateer KTM at Little Silver on the 7th October with backing from Crescent KTM in Dorset, Dextra lighting and Stolen Bike Co. It’s likely that this could be the seeds of a team built around KW for a full assault on the Maxxis British and Red Bull Pro Nationals championship in 2013. Either way we wish Kristian and his sponsors the best of luck for the final round of the Maxxis British championship because it’s obvious he has the raw talent to be a title contender.
