The fact that Conrad Mewse was going to make his debut at the Weston Beach Race this past weekend was an exciting prospect for most. Mewse is fresh off of his maiden British title, of course, and a sand master, so it was going to be intriguing to see how he fared. A crash on the notorious start straight held him back though and has actually left him with a shoulder injury.
“Not the way how I planned my Weston Beach Race to go yesterday,” Mewse wrote on social media. “[I] went down hard on the long straight and damaged my shoulder, picked myself up and came from basically last to 12th with an hour to go but my shoulder then seized up and I could no longer hold on. Going for more check ups tomorrow so hoping for good news. Swipe across to see the carnage.”
