To mark the Olympic Games in London, RHL Activities are offering an Olympic discount on entries for this year’s RHL Beach Race at Weston until 12th August.
2012 is the 30th anniversary of the world famous Beach Race at Weston and RHL Activities are working tirelessly to ensure that this year’s event provides a fitting celebration to mark three decades of what is now the biggest race on the British off-road calendar.
As always, the racing on the infamous Weston dunes course will be the centrepiece of the event, with all classes already filling up fast as riders sign up to take on this unique challenge. And what a challenge it is! With over 1000 riders across all classes, on a track that has claimed its fair share of victims over the past 30 years, simply finishing the races is a victory in itself for most competitors.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Beach Race at Weston, RHL Activities are also working hard to set up a showdown between the most successful racers in recent years.
Racers like Stefan Everts, a legend of motocross with ten world titles to his name. Everts may have won twice at Weston in previous years, but the undisputed master of the dunes is David Knight MBE, a three-time world enduro champion and a winner at Weston on no fewer than seven occasions – six times in the solo race and once on a quad.
RHL Activities are currently in negotiations to bring together these two giants of the off-road world at Weston, to see once and for all who really is the King of the dunes.
But Weston is about much more than the big names. What has allowed the Beach Race at Weston to grow from humble beginnings into the biggest off-road event in the United Kingdom is the commitment and enthusiasm of all the riders who have taken part in its 30-year history. Without the support of these riders, together with their families, Weston would not be the event it is today.
Which is why RHL Activities have opted to continue discounted entry to the 2012 Beach Race at Weston until 12th August, the same day the closing ceremony will bring an end to the Olympic Games.
“For RHL Activities it is the riders who have made the Beach Race at Weston what it is, which is why we want to continue the entry discount for a little bit longer,” explains Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities. “The discount, which will run until the closing day of the 2012 Olympic Games, offers a significant saving for riders. However, people will need to be quick, as all classes are filling up quickly.”
To take advantage of the discount, riders should download the entry form from the official website at www.rhlactivities.com and return it to the address on the form, with full payment, before 12August 2012.
