Mattia Guadagnini had an eventful time of it at the fourteenth round of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship, which also acted as the final round of EMX250. After playing a game of cat and mouse in the first moto, essentially using the bunching technique that Eli Tomac tried in Las Vegas in 2017, he then crashed out of the second moto in a spectacular fashion. Maddii Racing Husqvarna released this update on his condition – it also contains their thoughts on his first moto.
“Not the way we wanted to finish the season, but luckily Mattia is okay and this is the most important thing. He won many races, he showed in his first year [on a] 250F to be ready to fight for the title and this was the goal. Yes the first moto he tried everything, probably to much and he admitted it too. Everyone wanted to win, he tried to push [Thibault] Benistant to make a mistake but he didn’t do anything dangerous. Congratulations to Benistant and all the team, was a good year of racing.“
The Grand Prix of Limburg would have been Guadagnini’s last race with Maddii Racing Husqvarna, as he is on the move ahead of his first season in MX2. More on that new deal soon.
