Hunter Lawrence has finally released an update, following the shoulder injury that he sustained at the second round of the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross. Lawrence has ridden since Loretta Lynn’s 2 to test out his shoulder and made the decision to race in Crawfordsville, Indiana, this weekend. The following statement was released via social media.
“Last weekend I dislocated my shoulder in the first moto without crashing it was a freak deal, very tough pill to swallow and just broke my heart. The MRI scans on Monday came back positive that the ligaments were okay. A lot of thought, evaluation and calculation has gone into the decision and I will give my 100% to race this weekend at @ProMotocross @IronmanMX. Shoutout to my team for remaining behind me all the time.”

Hunter Lawrence has had a horrific run of bad luck since moving to the United States just under three years ago, and unfortunately that run continued at the second round of the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross. Lawrence pulled out of the first moto after dislocated his shoulder without even crashing, believe it or not. It was then feared that ligament damage would rule out for yet another season, but GEICO Honda has confirmed that there is not any major damage via the statement below.
“At least Jett survived the weekend healthy. Older brother Hunter popped his shoulder out of joint while running up front in moto one, which ended his day. He had the shoulder looked at on Monday and found no major damage, leaving him day-to-day. Hunter will attempt to ride later in the week, and will then determine his status for this weekend’s Ironman National in Indiana.”
The first round of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross, Loretta Lynn’s 1, was not much better for Lawrence, as a freak mechanical issue ruled out of moto one and then he could only take a fourteenth in moto two. Twenty-fifth is where he currently sits in the 250MX championship standings.
