The Motocross of Nations is a little different this year. Whilst there have always been questions about which riders will travel to the most prestigious race on the calendar, this year there are question marks about which countries will actually go at all. Denmark have already confirmed that they will not be present at RedBud and now Evgeny Bobryshev has exclusively confirmed to MX Vice that Team Russia are questionable.
“I know they are looking at budget, first of all, but they are planning to go there, so that is probably me, [Vsevolod] Brylyakov… Not sure [about him], he is still injured, and Evgeny Mikhaylov,” Bobryshev said. “They are still trying to put it all together, how much everything will cost and then they will decide. It is difficult. It looks like Russia is big and rich, but it is difficult to get money there to make everything properly. They are waiting on it, because the thing is it is a lot expensive to go over there.”
Evgeny Bobryshev, Vsevolod Brylyakov and Evgeny Mikhaylov would be a formidable team. Team Russia ended fourteenth at Matterley Basin with a weaker squad than that.
