Justin Brayton withdrew from the eighth round of 2021 Monster Energy Supercross after a practice crash mid-week. No significant injuries were sustained, but he hit his chest really hard and that made it impossible for him to ride. Brayton has now stated that he is still struggling with pain and will try to ride later this week – it seems as though his status for Daytona could be called into question.
“Can’t wait to get back to it! Gonna try and ride this week. Chest/ribs are still really sore when I do certain movements but hoping it’s not too bad on the bike.”
Brayton has hit a rough patch lately, following an extremely impressive start to the season with Muc-Off Honda. Twelfth is the position that he currently occupies in the premier-class championship standings – a third at the second round was obviously his season-best finish. An intense run of races is now approaching, as Daytona will be followed by another triple header in Texas.
