Fans were left puzzled at the penultimate round of the 2019 Maxxis British Championship today, as Jake Nicholls never took to the track for the first premier-class moto. Nicholls was seventh in the qualifying session earlier in the day. Buildbase Honda eventually took to social media to release the following statement.
“Jake Nicholls is out of today’s British championship at Foxhill after hurting his leg in qualifying. He didn’t crash, just dabbed it hard in a corner and he’d like to rest it up.”
Nicholls later kept fans updated via his social-media stories and shared an image with the following message, which confirmed that nothing too serious had occurred.
“Give the leg a big jab in qualifying. Nothing serious but I’ve stirred something up.”
More information is expected to be released in due course. Nicholls returned from his previous injury at the sixth round of the Maxxis British Championship and immediately challenged for a podium finish, as he took third in the second moto.
