February 10 (22:54).
The Standing Construct squad has broken cover ahead of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship. Ivo Monticelli has been competing in the Internazionali d’Italia series, then Glenn Coldenhoff debuted at Hawkstone Park on Sunday. Both riders have been racing on a KTM 450 SX-F though, so where is the new fleet of GasGas machines? The launch has been delayed by a little bit and it now sounds as though everything will be uncovered on the Friday before the Grand Prix of Great Britain. There is not too long to wait! In semi-related news, there are rumours floating around about who will pick up a GasGas deal in the USA in 2021…
January 06 (23:42).
The Motocross of Nations was more than three months ago now, yet there is still a fair amount of buzz surrounding Glenn Coldenhoff. The fact that he has switched to GasGas ahead of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship has only added to that. There have been some questions though, like why is he currently testing on a KTM instead of his new red bike?
After speaking to the team manager at Standing Construct GasGas Factory Racing, Tim Mathys, it has become apparent that work is currently being done in Austria and the team now expect to take delivery of GasGas machinery at the end of January. In the meantime they will continue to test aboard the KTM 450 SX-F. This obviously confirms that the bike will effectively be a KTM, which is no surprise at all.
Standing Construct GasGas Factory Racing will race with Coldenhoff and Ivo Monticelli in 2020. The team will debut at the Hawkstone International on February 09, so not too long after they take delivery of their all-new steeds. One would presume that the Diga Procross GasGas Factory Juniors – the MX2 team for the Austrian manufacturer – will run on a similar schedule.
