It seemed as though Garrett Marchbanks was going to be left without a seat when silly season drew to a close, as it soon became apparent that Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki would not re-sign the former prodigy. The good news is that Marchbanks has found a home at one of the privateer outfits, ClubMX, so will race a YZ250F in 2021 and beyond. Marchbanks announced the news via the following social media statement.
“As some of you may know these past four months, I was really struggling on figuring out what my next move was going to be for the upcoming season until I got the news that @ClubMX wanted to help me out. Hearing what they had to say and offer was more than what I could ever ask for, and I can’t thank the whole crew enough for giving me the opportunity and support to continue my racing in 2021. I’m beyond grateful and I’ll see you guys at the races.”
Marchbanks made a significant step forward with Mitch Payton’s crew this season, as he took his first victory as a professional at the Daytona stop of 2020 Monster Energy Supercross. Marchbanks lacerated his liver, bruised his lungs, tore his MCL and his PCL in Salt Lake City in June and has not raced since.
