News just in – the factory CLS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team have just signed up to compete in the 2013 Hawkstone International on the 10th February at the fantastic Hawkstone Park circuit, Shropshire.
Fans favourite and British hot shot Tommy Searle will be one to watch at Hawkstone, having competed in the event many times before Searle is no stranger to one of the best Motocross circuits in the UK. Having had a fantastic season in 2012 and finishing second in the World Championship behind Herlings the young Brit will be eager to kick start his 2013 season with a good result. 2013 will see Searle move up to the MX1 class and this will give British fans one of the first opportunities to witness him racing in the elite class.
Tommy Searle – “I’m looking forward to 2013 and moving up to the MX1 class, Hawkstone Park holds fond memories for me and I hope to have a good outing there at the International. It’s always good to race in front of the home crowd and hope they will all get behind me and support me that weekend. It’s one of the few chances I get to race on home soil so I’m looking forward to it and putting on a good show.”
With Searle in the MX1 class he will be joined by his new 2013 team-mates Arnaud Tonus and Alessandro Lupin, both these two 21-year-olds will race in the MX2 class at Hawkstone Park. Tonus missed some of 2012 due to injury but came back strong at the end taking a podium at the GP in Germany. Lupino is a good up and coming rider and has shown flashes of brilliance in 2012 with several top 15 places in the MX GPs in the last two seasons and has signed a deal with the CLS Kawasaki team for the next two years.
Race Secretary Gary Ford said “We’re really pleased to have signed up the CLS Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team for the Hawkstone International and we know Tommy Searle will be a big favourite with the British fans.”
