It was a rush to get ready and very tough conditions for everyone but we came out with some good results to build on for the rest of the year.
The 41st rider on the grid this weekend was Mother Nature, turning a well prepared Fatcat motoparc into a challenge for all the riders. The first round was always going to be tough for the team as we came to the game late in the day but with good starts and strong finishes we are thrilled our rider Stuart Edmonds has come away in the top ten of what is very tough MX1 class this year.
Team owner Andrew Byrne:
“Today was about finishing. We wanted two finishes as this was very much a shake down for us as a team this weekend but i am very proud of what we have accomplished. We knew Stuart would settle into the TM quickly as he has ridden them for so long and with two good starts we have come away with 7th in the championship from the first round. I would like to thank all from TMUK for getting everything set up this weekend as well as Phil from Tas and James from CCM Racing inDublinfor getting all the bikes ready.”
“Today went exceptionally well for me. I surprised myself with qualifying as I was only running the bike in due to it being in the UK while I was back home and with it being so wet the local practice tracks were closed so we were left to run it in during qualifying but getting 21st was a bonus! Race one went really well i manage to get a good jump out of the gate to get a decent start and pushed my way up to 6th place but with the weather being so bad my goggles messed up and I tried keeping them on as much as I could to save my eyes but it cost me a couple of places but still a very good 10th! Race two was much better I felt smoother and seemed to push my way up to 7th rite behind Brad so a very constructive day for me and the CCR team my Tm450fi was mega and to only have two weeks on it and come away with that result can only make me work harder and see where I can get when I have a month under my belt with the bike so watch this space! Big thanks to everyone in the CCR TM team and also to my mechanic Mike and suspension technician Philip from Tas Advanced Suspension 🙂 looking after the bike big thanks to all our sponsors for the big push and effort everyone’s put in. Roll on next week.”
