Rider Update: Tim Gajser

Fans across the globe watched as Tim Gajser suffered a vicious crash in the first main event at the Monster Energy Cup. Gajser came up short in a rhythm section, with particularly steep transitions, and then sat in the track for the next two laps. The medical team eventually helped him onto the sidelines, but he did not return for the final two races.

Gajser took to social media earlier today to confirm that he is indeed okay after the hard hit. “Grateful for opportunity and to be in one piece,” he wrote. “I had a lot of fun out there yesterday. It was something completely new to me, but i like it. Thanks for support guys. I wanna say huge thanks all my Team HRC, my Dad for always good advice on track and my girlfriend for always being there for me in good and bad times! Thank you guys. Next year we will be back stronger,” he concluded.

Although the end result was not what he was hoping for, Gajser did show potential in the practice sessions. The sixth-fastest time was logged by the former world champion.
