The recent Dirt Bike Show witnessed the release of the UK’s newest team, Revo Talon Kawasaki. The team is the collaboration of Mark Yates from Revo Technik and James Burfield from Burfield Digital Agency, who have been supporting riders for the past 5 years. The team was set up after a chance meeting of both parties talking about plans for 2013, which have resulted in the birth of the new team and an exciting 2013 for four riders.
Mark will apply his technical expertise to the team on the bike and engine side while James will be working on Sponsorship and Media.
The team caused a stir by having their own stand at the recent Dirt Bike Show where they were introduced on stage. Nez parker will be looking to put last year’s injury troubles behind him and concentrate on the three major British series and will be accompanied by the young hard working Ross Keyworth. MX2 Class will also have another couple of young talents in the shape of Damon Strydom and Dan Thornhill 19 and 17 respectively. South African rider Strydom will be looking to put last years disappointing season behind him, by putting together a solid winter training program culminating in the new UK Arenacross series. Dan Thornhill fresh from attaining the 2012 MXY2 Championship and a solid top 10 ride in the last round of the British Maxxis series will be looking to build on this years successful season where he will be gunning for the Redbull Rookie Championship.
The team have chosen to work with athletes who have got good family backgrounds, hard working and will give the team 100% right the way through the season. The team have already secured some fantastic sponsors and can’t thank Rob Sartin from Talon enough for supplying their world beating wheels, hubs and sprockets plus some new products they are working on and will be showcased by the team throughout 2013. Kenny Clothing will supply the Kit as the official UK Kenny Team and Airoh and Gaerne are supplying the the Aviator and SG12 signature series that are already some of the best selling products on the market. We are lucky to have some great people behind us and having Talon Engineering as not only a title sponsor but also supplying the team with bespoke products, Dunlop with Tyres, Apico and Pro Taper. The team would also like to thank Ross Burridge who has helped support the team from the initial concept.
Commercial Team Manager James Burfield says:
Having took a step back from MX Vice, I was looking for a new project to sink my teeth into. I came into the sport to try and help push British Motocross forward and what better way than giving 4 deserving riders the chance to compete at all levels next year. I will do my utmost to help build the team and service sponsors and partners over the next 12 months, to give the people supporting us a return on their investment.
I’m overwhelmed by the support and not only from the industry, but everyday Motocross fans who have joined me at the recent Dirt Bike show to offer their support. Working with Mark is a no brainer, a top guy that has the same passion, enthusiasm and outlook as myself.

Kawasaki UK’s Ross Burridge says:
With two fantastic machines in the shape of the KX250F and KX450F for 2013, we were looking to get behind good quality well backed teams to really showcase our products; Revo Talon Kawasaki fit this mould perfectly, and I am personally very excited at the prospect of watching these guys in action next year. I haven’t known James or Mark very long, but in the time that we have spent together I have realised just how passionate and committed to the cause they are. Add to that a great lineup of riders, and we should all witness great things from the team in 2013.
