Rev Racing is pleased to announce it will host a girls only training day with Britain’s leading motocross racer Natalie Kane at Salters Lane Motoparc in Wyham, Lincolnshire on the 10th of August 2012.
Kane is the current most successful British lady motocross racer having won numerous Girls National races, the Irish and Ulster Schoolboy Championship, winning the mini Des Nations heat on the way to fourth overall for her country, and the American Womens 85cc championship in her earlier career. Kane, who hails from Loughbrickland in Northern Ireland, has progressed and succeeded into the adult ranks as the Women’s British Champion on five occasions, as well as earning an amazing top three in the World Championship despite being just 20-years of age.
‘Kaner,’ as she’s also known, has recovered from a number of injuries in the past two seasons to take her HM Plant KTM 250 back to the Women’s World Championship podium this year and is currently second in the championship standings. Kane has already taken a moto win amongst her many strong results after recovering from a broken hand earlier the year, while showing an indication of her capabilities as she increases her pace while aiming to defeat current championship leader Chiara Fontanesi.
This is the first ever girls only school with Natalie, who is surprisingly small in stature but strong enough to throw around her race machine, and she can completely identify with the difficulties that lady riders who ride in the sport have to face. Motocross coach Mark Reville of Rev Racing, who has a great amount expertise in training riders, will join Kane at this event, which is open to all ages and abilities on 65cc or above machinery.
“I’m really excited about taking part in teaching for this school,” said Kane.
“For me this season is getting me back to the level I want to be after a lot of injury, and we’ve had a few podiums in the World Championship as well as a moto win, so things feel really positive right now. It will be great to teach girls only, as I’m passionate about encouraging women into motocross. It’s a great, tough, demanding sport, and I believe more women should be encouraged to try it. Obviously I understand the usual problems like the size of bikes, riding on tracks with guys, and being strong enough to manhandle a machine, but it is possible and it is lots of fun. I hope I can help put some of my knowledge back into the sport,” concluded the HM Plant KTM rider.
The track is located in Wyham, Lincolnshire and has hardpack terrain with obstacles suitable for a range of ability levels. The price of the school is £80 and is strictly limited on a first come, first served basis with a small group and one-to-one coaching. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
