On an 85cc or 150? Live the Dream at Round 4 British Championships

With just over one month to go to round four of the main championship, this may be a timely reminder to our younger riders that the Milton Park round on May 27th will also include the FIRST round of the MXY85 championship. As the name suggests, this is for youth riders on 85cc machines (or 150cc fourstrokes). The forward planning by the Series Promoter has prompted this class which will be run over three rounds, with the other two being at Hawkstone Park at the end of July, with the final showdown featuring at Little Silver on October 6th.

The riders will enjoy the benefits of being in front of a large spectator audience as well as some very important Team Principals.

Series Manager, Brian Higgins commented, ‘This three round series will be an ideal chance for our 11- 15 year old riders to taste British Motocross at the highest level and rub shoulders in the paddock with the top teams and riders. With the opening round of the British Youth Nationals already having taken place at the circuit last week, it will be interesting to see how these young riders cope with the different race lines which will appear, especially on the bends where the MX1 and MX2 guys use wider lines with the speed thy will be carrying. Will our younger riders be able to tuck inside on the bends to find the smoother lines towards the end of the day when the track gets rough?’

The class will cater for both Big Wheels and Small Wheels riding together with qualifying and two full length motos. There are still a limited number of spaces available, but preference will be given to existing ACU Licence holders.
