It’s been a few months in the making but Husqvarna have just announced that the former Evotech Stevens KTM team will now become the official Husqvarna MX1 and MX2 team for theUK.
A fresh two year deal has been inked with new title sponsor Dantec Recruitment which see’s the team announced under the new name of “Dantec HusqvarnaUK”
Team manager Matt Hutchins explains his new team plans, “I am delighted with the faith that Shaun Sisterson and the new generation of Husqvarna have shown in us to be the officialUKteam, and it’s a real honour to begin a new relationship with a brand that has such a racing heritage. To bring an outside sponsor to the sport, in the form of Dantec Recruitment also gives the team a real boost.”
The relationship with former title sponsor Evotech will continue with the company remaining as the team’s engine and suspension technical partner.
The team will field a three rider line up in the 2014 Maxxis British Championship and Red Bull Pro Nationals.
They will retain the services of Steven Lenoir for their MX2 effort and are excited to announce the signing of rising star Nathan Watson for MX1 class, and the 17 year old up and coming MXY2 rider Tony Saunders completes the youthful new line up.
With both Lenoir and Watson coming off impressive 2013 seasons, the team have high expectations for 2014. Lenoir finished second in both the Maxxis British and Red Bull Pro National Championships while Watson took his first ever Maxxis British Championship Overall win at the Hawkstone Park round.
Tony Saunders has also shown great promise this year finishing in third place in the GT Cup MXY2 Championship.
With machines arriving in the next couple of weeks and preparations already underway, the Dantec HusqvarnaUKteam will be a force to be reckoned with in 2014.
