Building on two seasons of direct support from Kawasaki Motors UK, the Oakleaf Kawasaki squad are set to become the company’s official MX1 entry. In addition, theSomersetbased team will also take part in the seven round 2014 UK Arenacross series.
Concentrating on the MX1 class in the Red Bull Pro Nationals and the Maxxis British Championship, the team are gearing up to race the KX450F and establish a fresh rider line-up for what promises to be an exciting season.
By campaigning Jack Brunel in Arenacross, the team have already pulled off a coup given his excellent indoor performances in the recent past. Underpinning this, they will continue to promote their youth academy running rookie riders on the KX250F plus an 85cc rider line up on the recently launched 2014 KX85.
“It’s a really busy time for everyone”, commented Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge. “Following the withdrawal of LPE as our official team, this elevation to official status has come as welcome news and a fitting reward to Shaun Anthony and his Team. The Oakleaf guys already do a great job presentation-wise in the paddock and I am sure this new found status will motivate them to greater success on track and at indoor venues across 2014”.
Team owner, Shaun Anthony commented, “With the Official deal now in place, myself and the team look forward to giving 100% as always to succeed in the Maxxis British Championship and the Red bull Pro Nationals next season. We have worked so hard and come a long way in a short space of time, and with such a successful machine as the KX450F to work with, I have no doubt the success the team can achieve.
It’s a big step to take and something the team have worked hard towards, but I am positive for the future withKawasaki. Ross Burridge and the Kawasaki Motors UK team have been a pleasure to work with, a big Thank You to them and our sponsors for the Support so far. We now can start to plan for the 2014 season.”
