Petar Petrov is one of the Grand Prix guys who has remained quiet in recent weeks, as he has been desperately trying to piece a deal together to go racing next year. His new contract with North Europe Racing KTM was announced earlier today and is set to ensure that he remains on the starting gate at the highest level.
“I am very happy to announce that I will be riding for North Europe Racing KTM next season in MXGP, [the] Dutch Masters and this season’s beach races. I cant thank them enough for the support and [I’m] happy to be working with so motivated people,” he wrote on his social-media account. It remains to be seen how many of the FIM Motocross World Championship rounds he’ll reach.
Petar Petrov’s first campaign in the premier division, which was spent with Assomotor Honda, was riddled with injuries and left him in twenty-fifth overall. A sixteenth in the second moto at Valkenswaard was a season-best finish.
