It has been rumoured for some time, but the SM Action outfit has confirmed that they will move to GASGAS in 2021. The team, which was a valuable part of the Yamaha Racing family, took Maxime Renaux to third in MX2 in the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship. It is currently unknown who will sit beneath their awning, although Alberto Forato is heavily linked to an MX2 seat.
“Ready and loaded for this new challenge! In 2021 we will be engaged in the World and European championships with the MC 250F! Soon the names of riders.“
The team did compete in the premier class this year, as Henry Jacobi piloted a YZ450F in his first season aboard the bigger bike. That will not be the case next year, however, but Jacobi’s already linked to the JM Racing Honda outfit. Hakon Fredriksen raced in EMX250 for SM Action this year, but he too is moving on and has signed for the Bud Racing Kawasaki team. Not much is known about the SM Action line-up, aside from the above.
