The JK Yamaha squad were fairly quiet when the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship ended. They lost Ivo Monticelli, their star guy, to Standing Construct KTM and then Dickie Dye moved onto RFX KTM as well, so it seemed as though there was some uncertainty there. The Italian squad have now confirmed their intentions for the new season though.
They have welcomed two younger riders, Natanael Bres and Jere Haavisto, to the team. The signings were announced in a very short social-media statement. “It’s official,” the team wrote. “Natanael Bres and Jere Haavisto join the team for the 2019 MX2 World Championship.” Haavisto added to that with the following statement. “Today JK Racing and myself announced our contract for season 2019 [sic],” he said. “Looking forward to this great opportunity. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!”
Both riders are set to compete in the MX2 class in the FIM Motocross World Championship. It remains to be seen if JK Yamaha are going to sign any additional riders.
