MX Nationals are go!
I am sure that some of you would have heard through the grapevine that there is an all-new series (the MX Nationals) that is starting in the UK this year!
We have waited until now to make an official release, as we wanted to wait until we had the main infrastructure of the series in place. Paul Irwin (RaceFX), Neil Irwin (Culham Park), and James Burfield (MX Vice) will be running the new MX Nationals.
There will be six classes available for the riders to compete in, including a structure to define the Fastest 40 riders in the country. Those who do not make it go into the ‘Pro Support’ class on that weekend, which will hopefully help them to improve enough to have another attempt at making the ‘Fastest 40’ at the next round. The MX Nationals was created to provide a series that doesn’t discriminate, but simply offers transparency. If you are fast enough in qualifying, you are in.
The series has already secured some of the best tracks in the country, and with a class dedicated towards the junior ACU and AMCA group, you can imagine why we are close to filling up the various classes. Riders want to ride great tracks without the fear of an expert rider coming around to lap them, they are there to have fun and experience a great weekend of racing in an organized and professional manner.
There are some changes to the Pro MX1/MX2 groups with separate points to establish an MX2 winner and champion, after talking and listening to feedback from Bryan Mackenzie and Neville Bradshaw. The Pro’s also get a timed practice session
We have an Under15 class, with small and big wheel bikes, a two-stroke open class, and an MXY2 rookie class to give the future British Champions a platform to showcase their talents.
Updates to our website (www.mxnationals.co.uk) have been carried out, as some changes have happened recently. For instance, every class will have two races on each day, except for the professionals, who will have one race and a timed qualification. The MX Nationals team is also working hard to increase spectator attendance at each round, along with making the cost for a family more affordable by introducing a price of £10 per vehicle.
We are pleased to announce that the MX Nationals will have some great brands and sponsors involved with the series, by sponsoring the classes. EVS, Maxima, Michelin, Talon, Fly, JT, MX Vice, Bell, RFX, MD Racing and Surf and Turf are in thus far, with more brands joining weekly.
We are still actively looking for a title sponsor for the MX Nationals; this would give us the opportunity to rename the series with the sponsor’s name. Remember to keep an eye out for our new website from the Burfield Digital Agency, also!
