Martin Barr was dealt a blow earlier this year, when it was confirmed that he would not be able to return to the Revo Husqvarna team next year. An age limit was then enforced on the EMX250 division and that left him with even less options to explore. Now, however, Barr has secured a contract that will allow him to compete in the various domestic series in Great Britain.
“Excited to finally release my plans for the 2019 season,” Barr wrote on social media. “I have signed with Crescent Yamaha to ride the all new YZ250F in the British and MX National Championships. Big thanks to @YamahaRacingComOfficial @YamahaMotorUK.” The Crescent Yamaha squad were previously linked to the RFX team, but the latter has moved onto bigger things and become an independent Grand Prix team.
It has also been confirmed that Jake Shipton, who has really had a horrific year with injuries, will stick with the team that has supported him through thick and thing. It is likely that both riders will debut in their new colours at the Hawkstone International in February.
