This Sunday the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championships resumes after a six week break with round 5 at Tiverton Moto Parc. At the last round the racing was fast and furious and in the Expert open class the Championship had a new leader at the end of the day in the shape of Luke Hawkins, who goes in to round 5 with a 9 points advantage over Shane Carless with last years Champion Jamie Skuse there in 3rd, but joining them will be the likes of John May, Tommy Alba, Luke Hill, James Dodd, Kelvin Townsend and Luke Mellows who makes his first appearance back from injury plus many more.
In the Tyremarks Junior Championship which is proving to be very competitive it is Welshman Jay Thomas who heads the proceedings by 26 points over Ryan Williams with Christian Dicks there in 3rd closely followed by Toby Harvey and Lewis Barfoot but as with other rounds there has been many different race winners and things are expected to be close again.
In the M D Racing Over age classes the pace has been fast with some really close racing. Mark Wilde currently leads the Over 35 Championship, but he will be up against a strong field including Jason Fraser who lies just 43 points adrift in 2nd with Gavin Flagg just 9 points further back, but there is plenty of other talent like Jamie Deadman, Martyn Tucker, Rick Hanson, Rob Lewis to name a few. In the over 40’s standings its Steve Locke leading from David Ford with Johnny Hawkins in 3rd and in the Over 50’s its Keith Hanson who heads from Ian Nott who has just a 12 points advantage over last years Champion Tom Lowe so it will be all to play for.
