When the Monster Energy Cup was first launched in 2011, the idea was that the hybrid layout would attract riders from all the globe. That may work out this time around, as another MXGP regular will join Tim Gajser in Las Vegas. Jordi Tixier confirmed his participation via the social-media post below.
“BREAKING NEWS: It’s official. I will line up for the Monster Energy Cup this year. This is awesome! Let’s enjoy it.”
It has been a busy week for Tixier, as he was also named as the third riders on Team France for the Motocross of Nations. Tixier will replace Romain Febvre, who bowed out with a broken femur.
