First and foremost, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all our most loyal sponsors in supporting us over the years. As we enter a new chapter for Moto One Rockstar KTM, we are pleased to announce the signing of one of the hottest young prospects, which we believe is in young 18 year old Luke Hawkins. After watching Luke closely throughout his schoolboy career, it’s clear to see for the people in the know that this young talent with the correct machinery will be a force to be reckoned with for the remainder of 2012 and the upcoming 2013 season.
Team Manager Darren Wilson writes: “Young Luke has impressed me greatly on occasions over the past 2 seasons; unfortunately injury has hampered his advances within the British and European Championships. We will endeavour to channel all our energy and enthusiasm for the sport to put Luke back to where he belongs. The team will surround Luke with the correct people and influences within the sport.
“Over the coming weeks Luke will debut for the team on the race ready Craig’s Motorcycles KTM 250 SXF at round 7 of the Maxxis British Championship. We are working together with Luke, Craig’s Motorcycles and KTM UK to create a package for Luke, allowing us to challenge for top honours in Britain and European Championships.”
Luke Hawkins writes: “I am more than happy to finally be involved with the KTM family and to have the opportunity to prove my position within the Moto One Rockstar KTM Motocross team. The KTM 250 SXF is a proven race winner at all levels of the sport. Darren and his team have a clear passion and I am sure we can work well together at the sharp end of the results.”
Shaun Sisterson, KTM UK, writes: “We are pleased to hear the news of Luke joining KTM, as he is a good young talent and he will hopefully do well for us.”
