Liam Garland has just finished the 2012 season as the ACU British Youth Open Champion and became a regular point scorer in the Maxxis MX2 championship.
In 2011, as a 15 year old he struggled to score just 2 points in his Maxxis MX2 debut season and found himself on the reserve list for the 2012 series.
Opting to try and gain a place in the 2013 series through the BYN route, Liam stormed to the the open class title, winning 17 of the 25 races and taking the championship with a comfortable winning margin.
The confidance gained was evident when given a chance to enter the Maxxis MX2 races as a reserve, and as the season progressed so did his results, with the highlight being a top 10 finish at Langrish and an eventual 23rd overall in the championship.
2013 looks like being the next step up the ladder as Liam has secured himself a ride in MX2 for one of the KTM backed teams.
He would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped him this year and in particular Trevor Pope, KTM UK, Norman Watt Mc, MX Zone, Gaerne, Michelin, Highfield Motorhomes, Rhino Goo, Turvey Construction and MX Graphics.
