The annual Le Touquet beach race held today (Sunday 3rd February) was cut short as the tide came in across the track.
Controversy reigned as the leaders Milko Potisek and last year`s winner Jean-Claude Mousse battled and even the final result was in question when Potisek crossed the line in first place but on count back to when the red flag was put out and the race stopped, it was Mousse who was declared the winner for the fourth consecutive year.
Buildbase Honda stars Nico Aubin and Steven Ramon prepared well for this race, though on the first lap, Ramon went down hard and had to enter the pits to straighten his bars, he returned to the track in around 35 th place and began to work his way through.
Aubin had a much better first lap and came round in touch with the leaders in 6th and spent the whole race fighting for this position. Around the halfway stage, Ramon began to suffer problems from the earlier crash and visited the pits once again for attention. At the (premature) flag, Aubin was credited with 7th place and Ramon a gutsy 21st.
