Answers regarding the immediate future of professional motocross in the United Kingdom are beginning to filter through, as the MX Nationals (in the UK) released the following statement that confirms they will indeed run a series in 2020. There is no word on crowd numbers, race formats, dates, tracks or anything like that. This is still some form of hope for those desperate to sit on a starting line again though.
“As you have probably noticed, we have been very quiet in recent times and this is due to not having the correct information to give you regarding the 2020 season and causing a mass of questions coming our way that we would not be able to answer. Let us tell you what we do know…We will have a 2020 championship! We are currently working hard to produce a championship behind the scenes and by the tenth of this month we will give you a much better update on things.”
MX Nationals UK did not manage to even start their series before the pause for the pandemic, so do have some ground to make up. It remains to be seen if they will manage to run six rounds as they had initially planned to at the start of the season. This post will be updated as soon as the forthcoming update filters through.
